A stem and leaf plot is a good way to graphically show numberical data and is very much like a histogram. Here at the left it is a plot showing the ages of people at a family reunion. I have never been a fan of this type of plot. To me it is very confusing. But a lot of people like it.

A box plot is a good way of showing data and it uses five different summaries of numbers to show the data. Here on the left it is showing the comparisons of energy and a machine.

Parallel coordinate graph
This type of graph can be very confusing and hard to read. It is made by drawing many different parallel lines in many different dimensions. you can see that the data looks three-D. The website I got this off was doing some sort of science experiment with drosophilia.

Triangular Plot
A triangular plot is a plot of data that is made into a triangle to show the data. It typically shows three different sets of data. This one is using different colors to depict the different data it has recorded. The key to the right shows what each color represents. This map talks about the Kmax off Kauai for various slip allocations between three aleutian sources.

Windrose
A wind rose is something that is very important in weather. Weather people use this tool to show the wind speed and direction of the wind in a particular area. This is very important in places that have storms and especially hurricanes.

Climograph
A climograph is a graph that shows a thematic type of data. The data that a climograph hows is the amount of precipitation in a given area in a certain time period. Here in the left I have the amount of precipitation in Australia. This type of map is used all the time in weather.
